Question is will we start the preview event at the start of GW:EN or will it just auto throw us to one section of the game. Naturally it would be better if it was from the start due to spoilers, however I wonder how long it will take to get to Eye of the North as this is an expansion and there will be development in old Tyria before we go north. After looking at the map that will feature in the preview event it looks like there will be a fair bit of content.

According to the design team, the map exploration and exposure that you achieve during the Sneak Peek Weekend will remain on your map. You won't be able to map travel to those points once the SPW ends, of course, and cannot go there until you add a GW:EN Access Key, but you won't be required to redo that area, if you don't care to do so.
As to other surprises, I cannot say about whether the new titles and other such things will be revealed. I guess if you want everything to be completely unknown to you and if you want GW:EN to be a complete surprise to you come August 31, you could avoid the weekend and stay off the forums and GWW for the five days after the SPW ends.

You may continue to use the items, but the skills and Heroes will be tied to the release and acquisition of GW:EN. By that I mean that if you get a GW:EN Hero during that weekend, you'll need to put in a GW:EN access key to make him or her available on August 31.

I am always struggling with the concept of time zones
Help me out please.
The sneak peak weekend will start August 24, 2007 at 12:01 AM Pacific time (-7 GMT) and will end August 26, 2007 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.
Friday 12.01 AM PST equals = Thursday 05.01 PM GMT right?
Which means for me (Amsterdam = GMT+2 (incl. DST +1)) it will start at 07.01 PM Thursday 23.
Is this correct?

I'm glad you posted that, Suuk. I didn't even think about the differfent time zone! My plan was to stay up late and be on for event, but now it looks like I'm better off getting up really early LOL.
I found a time zone converter: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc
Maybe that can help you and anyone else. Still confusing because the answer I get from messing with windows' clock is different from this one.

Suuk,it will start at 9 in the morning, your time. Friday.
I'm not sure how to write it in 24 hour time, so excuse the mess. lol
0001 (1 minute after midnight) + 9 hours = 0901 European time.
The time difference from US Pacific to Central European Time is +9 hours.

Eh I tried using the time zone converter but it came up with different times. I live in Michigan so I believe we're Eastern. Could someone who knows how to translate that mumbo jumbo help me out with the local time the event starts?

For Eastern time, add 3 to the Pacific time. Yeah, it's that simple.

I'll be there during the sneek peaks, perhaps making some video for my guildmates because they will not be there
Well, perhaps we will see each others. I will go with my Ranger for sure for 1 big reason: She's the oldest of all my characters.
See cya for now...going to work.
